"Infinite Variety" (on-line photos)

Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts

My hat goes off to the Museum and Show organizers for not only allowing photography but encouraging visitors to upload their photos to a central place where everyone could also see them.
I can only imagine what it felt like to be in that room with so many people all oogling over 651 quilts owned and "accumulated" by Joanna S. Rose who kept them "in a big cedar closet most of the time."  I'd love to see that chest.

The American Folk Art Museum’s first ever Photo Contest!  We are looking for original and striking images of the exhibition “Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts,” which the museum will be presenting at the Park Avenue Armory March 25–30, 2011. We encourage entries from all ages and hope to receive images that capture the scope and beauty of the installation, which will be largest exhibition of quilts ever held in New York City.  Submit your photos and join the museum’s group pool!
PRIZES:   The winner will be announced on April 25, 2011, and will receive a yearlong membership to the museum and a museum tote bag. The winner will also be featured in a special section of the museum’s eNewsletter this May.
WHEN:  Deadline for submitting entries is April 11, 2011.
Read more about the show and the quilts' and Mrs. Rose's desire to share them with us here.
